We would like to thank all of you who provided feedback as part of the terms and conditions exercise. This highlighted a number of areas which you have identified as problematic proposals and we have now met the company to see if we can make progress on these issues. Of the issues raised, there are a number that should be resolved by the company, providing clear commitments which will address members’ concerns. This include issues such as agreements that no one would be made to go on to the three-day shift pattern without their explicit agreement and that definition of reasonable overtime being one hour is not used as a simple way of scheduling drivers rounds for an extra hour per day.
Elsewhere. members have raised issues as to the notice given to shifts, the one-man CIT jobs and the inclusion of Sundays and Bank Holidays within the rosters. We hope to make progress on these with a view of agreeing a package which is acceptable to you.
Having met the company, we are now awaiting a response to the issues raised and hope to be able to come back to you shortly with an improved package. We will communicate any changes as soon we can and will undertake a further ballot once we have the full details.
